Hi there!
I’m writing with three goodies today.
Slaughter’s Story Made the Cover – What Stories Got Left Out?”
Maybe you’ve heard about Anne Marie Slaughter’s recent cover story in The Atlantic Magazine, “Why Women Still Can’t Have It All”? I was touched when many of you wrote me last week asking “So, Tara, where’s your response piece?” Well, here it is, at Huffington Post. In it I share my take on Slaughter’s piece plus 5 critical questions every woman needs to be asking when she reads media coverage of women’s lives & careers. Check it out here.
Have you seen my new video series?
I launched my new video series this week! You can watch the video (3 minutes) on Going For Your Calling HERE. If you enjoyed it, I’d love for you to share it with others in your circles via Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest. Here’s the link!
Unleash the Unstoppable Power of You – Free Telesummit
I’m a guest in an upcoming free tele summit hosted and created by, Saskia Roell, called Unleash the Unstoppable Power of You! — all about moving from being stuck to being unstoppable. It features 24 experts (including me and some other women you may know and love – Danielle Laporte, Hilary Rubin, and others) offering guidance on how to gain momentum to create a passionate, Soul-directed life and business. In my interview, I shared key things we all can do to unleash greater power and impact in our work. You can sign up for the free event HERE.
Thanks for reading. Sending love to you on this summer Thursday,
Tara
Your new video series looks great.
I’m a fan of Ikigai and the power of purpose … when we flourish, we make our soul sing. The beauty is that work can be our ultimate dojo — it can be our ultimate form of self-expression, and an arena for our best results, when we take on big challenges, live our values, and give our best where we have our best to give.
It’s the Arete way.
I’ve been lucky to have fantastic mentors that pushed me to lead a life of action and to lift others up. I believe everybody deserves their best life, and that a key to that is the pursuit of our passions and our purpose.
And skill is the difference that makes the difference.
We all write our story forward a day at a time. We don’t have to call back customers, we can win raving fans … we don’t have to drive our project, we can lead an epic adventure … we don’t have to write our vision doc, we can paint a picture of a compelling future.
I was lucky to learn my Golden Circle (an executive tool for finding your “Why”) early on. When we drive our lives from the inside out, starting with “Why”, we unleash our passion in an authentic and unrivaled way. And that’s contagious.
That’s the beauty of finding our calling … we amplify our lives in a way that lifts the world (or at least our world) … passion is a force multiplier and it takes goodness to greatness in a way that’s worth spreading.
