I’m delighted to bring you a conversation with Danielle LaPorte today. If you are reading this over email click to watch the video.

I’ve long admired Danielle for her fidelity to her muse, her original work, and her poetic writing. Today she releases her new Desire Map collection. In the conversation below, we talk about all kinds of juicy topics – from her philosophy of how we should relate to our desires to how her work has impacted my spiritual life.

Enjoy!

Love,

Tara

This was a wonderful interview. Very useful. And I agree with Danielle’s comment about joy being scary. I didn’t know I felt that way until she said it. Thanks for being the conduit for this, Tara. I like your work too because it is practical and spiritual….practical spirituality. (I met you for a few moments in the lobby area at the Emerging Women event. I accidently crashed your party. Anyway, I enjoyed your talk at the conference, too.

So true, Tara, about desire and the feminine, even the sacred feminine. Very much enjoyed this.

I find this photo very odd. Mouth open . . . modelesque? sexy? Just odd. Different from other photos I’ve seen. Hmmmm, still sitting with it. Thought I would give my response instead of just deleting bc I’ve found all other photos inviting.

  • JoAnn says:

Thank you! I think our desires come from God. I do not perceive the true definition of desire as one that is harmful. An honest desire for more in and of life is very different from the brain craving more of an addictive or harmful substance. Thank God that we do have enough research teaching us about what is harmful and what are healthy desires.

Wow! That was a truly authentic conversation with sparks of brilliance from both you and Danielle. It’s New Year’s Day and I’m diving into the workbook portion of the Desire Map. So glad I saw this video before taking the plunge. Your insight into the font of core desires, being the pure form of my soul’s expression creates a safe context for me to engage in the process. Thank you!

Like Danielle, I’ve had to square my relationship with Joy by deeply understanding the difference between Joy and Happiness. Thank you both!

  • Elise says:

Wonderful conversation, thanks so much for sharing!”Our soul’s expression”. Oh yes indeed.
    Much love,
    Elise
