Dear readers, friends, circle around the world –
Thinking of you in this new year with love. May the year ahead be one of peace, healing, and transformation for the good. A new year’s day poem for you below …
Love,
Tara
New Year’s Poem
New year. It will not be
what you plan or what you chart.
Remember, dear? It never is.
The lines will not run straight
or the surfaces be smooth.
After all, the curriculum
is given, not chosen.
New year. Today, do not resolve
anything for yourself.
Resolve something for all of us.
The very heart of time is begging us
to never wish for I again,
to only ask for us.
And intention? Do not
even intend anything
or try to name the roads
you want on your map.
Instead, look back
and fall to your knees
for every time you have hurt yourself.
Repair.
Remember how you loved
before you were born.
Grow more like dust on the earth,
for joy crackles between
the powdery grains of self, not in them.
New year.
Another turn.
Another turn of the sphere.
Another turn to be.

Aww, I really love this!
Tara your poem made me weep as I sit here with my bookkeeping receipts and my paperclips. I love the idea of this next year as another chance to be.
Warmly and with love for the work you do!
Tara,
Your poem is very spiritual, almost mystical.
May your work for the new year continue to be a bring blessings for many people.
Thank you.
Dear Tara, thanks for sharing! I do love the idea of ‘us’ in your poem. I feel a huge urge to reinstall sisterhood with the women all over the world.
This is my poem for the start of 2018:
(orignally written in duth. Tried to translate it đŸ™‚
Welcome
itchy feeling
new and vulnerable
blooming
very near to my shoulders
only tangible for me.
Anxiously I wait
and I yearn with curiosity
– looking into the mirror –
for what will unfold.
Being no one open to everyone.
Being grateful
Being of service
Being Love.
Thank you for sharing your heart, Tara; you fill mine. xoxo
Just exquisite, Tara! Thank you!
So beautiful! Thank you for sharing this! <3

Thank you, Tara. Beautiful and true. All blessings to you.
Yes. True. And beautiful! From an elderly reader (78) who is full of hope. Thank you!
So beautifully written Tara.
Repair.
Remember how you loved
before you were born.
Thank you for the reminder
Thank you, Tara, for reminding us of what is most important in such a turbulent world. May we all seek to live by these words in 2018. Blessings to you!
Wow! Beautiful!
So beautiful. We really are all connected. We were likely writing our respective poems for the New Year around the same time, infused with the same frequency of love and light. Here is mine…
4, 3, 2, 1…
It is unknown
Unexplored
Unchartered
And nonetheless upon us
A strange, new friend
A strange, new world
Full of mystery and potential
Empty as a clean slate
Void of slings and arrows
Of judgment or disappointment
I don’t want to know
Too much, too soon
I want to learn
To discover, to savor
I don’t want to cram
For it is not a test
I want to pour the best of myself into its midst
So I’ll say, “Yes,” to what has
Shown up
But I won’t attach possession
Expectations
Limitations
Or stake permanent claim
On any of it
For it is not mine
The New Year has been created
By and for all of us, including
Those who came before
Who will never know this one
And yet would want to know
That their contributions were made
That their lives were not in vain
This New Year
Is to be treasured and infused
With love, light, and kindness
By each of our
Pounding hearts and
Yearning souls
One breath and one step
At a time
As one
As you and I

Powerful. Thank you.
The part about looking back and falling to your knees every time you have hurt yourself brought tears to my eyes right away.
I’m just reading this. Thank you – your words resonate deeply: the falling, the remembering, the opening. You offer an invitation to feel, and to look inward sometimes. Thank you.
